This winter I think I’m going to be working a lot because I am broke. I talked to my dad yesterday and he told me that we have a bunch of corn to haul. When we haul corn we take it to the ethanol plant which is in Malta Bend. Malta bend is about 15 miles from Marshall on 65 Highway. We have two semi that look identical one of them is a 1993 Mack it has all alumina wheels and it’s white with blue pin stripe. The new one is a 2000 it has polished alumina wheels which are shinier than the other ones. But it too is white with a blue pin stripe. Also we have a 1979 ten wheeler which is white with a blue dump bed. It’s a pretty rough truck the transmission is about to be done and the cab has a mice in it a few times.

Last night

Last night I was at my friends house hanging out and another guy I know came over and he brought a friend that none of us knew. At first he seemed alright I mean he was already really drunk, which I mean isn’t really a big deal as long as they don’t act retarded. Well this kid did first he stole a whole 24 pack of beer. And we didn’t know it was him so we just thought maybe we drank it. Then a girl that was there couldn’t find her boots. After that we were like what the hell is going on then he took a sack full of deer meat. By this time people have seen him carrying this stuff out so we called him out and he just denied all of it. I guess he was just so out of it that he didn’t know he did it.

The Farm

After I get out of college I’m going straight back to the farm because that is where my heart is. This is a song that talks about I want to go back where the green grass grows and watch my corn pop up in rows, well that’s exactly where I want to be for the rest of my life. But while I’m here at college I have decided that I’m not here just to say I went to college or put it on my resume. I’m here because I want to learn and get information on how to make my farm the most successful farm it can be. I don’t want to have to be 40 years old and worrying about money, by the time I’m that age I want to be able to go out and do what I want and have the money to be able to do it.

CaseIH vs John Deere

With their 4 wheel drive tractors case has them beat again because of the motor. John Deere has their own motor in it, its ok it just doesn’t deliver the power that it should. The case tractors bout out the company Steiger about 10 years ago and now they run a Cummins Ivicky motor, which is a high out -put durable motor. Ivicky is a motor that originated in Europe. Case took the power of the Cummins with the fuel efficiency of the Ivicky and made a very good motor. Another way Case has beaten John Deere in their track tractors, because case has a 4 track system where as John Deere runs a 2 track system which is a lot like a dozer. The problem with that is that when you turn at the ends it pushes a lot of dirt up from the outside track doing a lot of sliding.

CaseIH or John Deere

Now this subject is very touchy with certain people but I’m going to discuss it anyway. CaseIH vs John Deere. My family has ran red since the farm started in the early 1900’s. I know that there are a lot of farms that are just the opposite. But in my opion there is nothing that john Deere has over case. With cases new tractors they have the suspension ride on the front end, a 15 percent power rise when you start pulling the tractor. In the cab it has the throttle and gears all on one control and finger tip hydraulic controls. Also they have a tighter turning radius. But I will admit in the late 70’s when john Deere came out with the power shift it took case almost 10 years to start doing that. But once they got that figured out there was no turning back. a million dollars

If I had million dollars I would buy a newer truck. Then I would go back to the family farm and invest in it that way when I got out of school I could go back to it and not worry about anything as far money or anything. Then I would take what I had left and put it in the bank and live of the interest for a while. So I think the way I’m going to try and get this million dollars is that I am going to play the lottery all the time. Also if I won this money ii would go out and buy a Harley and buy my dad a Harley and we would travel the country in the summer just because there are lots of things that I would like to do and see before I grow up and get to busy with my life.

Canada

If I could take a vacation to anywhere I think I would go back to Canada. Because it is so fun, I went there with my step dad and a few of his friends about 4 years ago. We drove the whole way up there in a convoy and pulled our boats when we got there we had to load all our supplies on the boat and drive about a mile across water to get to out cabin. Out cabin was a 5 room 15 person cabin and it was crude cabin which made it a lot more fun. Because we had to cook everything over a fire. The cool thing about this cabin was that it was completely solar powered. But we had a lot of fun catching walleye and northern pike. We were there for 5 days it took us a day to get there and a day to get back.
